Why are my teammates shooting at me?

I was in my Jackson going down the left side of the map from the top spawn, stopping to use camo/binocs to snipe when I got shot in the rear. I wondered what it was until I realized it was some VK heavy. I wasn't blocking him or in his way, after he hit me I blasted him with my gun which had a lot more alpha, he hit me again in the back but at that point I didn't care and had targets to shoot and better things to do.

We inevitably lost because instead of capping that same VK decided to go over the train line at their flag, my engine got shot out so I couldn't reach it. He went blue about half-way through the map but I decided it's better to keep him around for the enemy to shoot at instead.
