Honesty

View PostMordd, on Jul 31 2012 - 03:00, said: 1. Tan, first of all thankyou for trying to address the frustration here, if I can respond to some of your comments: I think the large number of players that did transfer to SEA recently shows that a LOT of AU/NZ players would prefer to be on SEA with 100-200 pings instead of on NA with 250-400 pings, so I cannot agree that most players here would prefer to be in the US server, since that was the only server available for quite a while it is no wonder there are so many AU/NZ players here, but that is not by choice for a large number of the players, given the choice a large number all transferred off here first opportunity they got, and there are MANY others stating right now they want to transfer to SEA as well, I don't see how you think most players want to be on NA given these facts.
2. Frankly US culture is not that similar to AU/NZ culture in so many ways, I am constantly frustrated at having to deal with so many Americans on this server frankly, the USA is a very different place to Australia, the fact that we supposedly speak the same language is not a good enough reason that we should be on NA server, not when so many players on the SEA server also speak english just fine. I feel like this is the typical anti-Asia attitude that you see so often in Australia, when you make comments like we have more in common with US culture than we do with Asian culture (which itself is massively diverse given the number of different countries in Asia which technically includes India as well). If so many of us wanted to be so immersed with US culture don't you think most aussies would be in US clans, instead we all form clans based around AU/NZ players - we play on NA because historically that is where most AU/NZ players have been FORCED to play by the game companies, but ping has always been an issue and there is a noticeable difference between a 1-2 second delay and a 3-4 second delay in this game, as there is in most server side games.
3. Why not give the players the choice and reopen transfers again? The one thing you didn't answer or respond to at all was the issue of why Wargaming hasn't re-opened transfers to SEA given players want to transfer. If you geniunely believe so many AU/NZ players want to be here then reopen transfers and give the players the choice and see what happens, I will make a bet with you right now if Wargaming reopened transfers you would end up with 3/4 of the previous AU/NZ playerbase on SEA. Prove me wrong and reopen transfers and let the numbers speak for themselves. No offence Tan but what you want is not what a lot of other players want, so give us the choice to move to SEA, make the transfers only available for a fee I don't care, just reopen transfers and we will all see who wants to be where really.

Tanitha: 1. You are welcome.
I agree a lot of AUS/NZ would like lower pings and a higher ping is an disadvantage in game play.
There is just many factors to conciser apart from the ping. if all you care about is the ping (and many players do) then that makes the decision easy for you.
Personally I look at other things as well, like keeping in contact with my friends ive played with for the last 15 years.
Waking up at 3am/4am/etc and having friends/clanmates online, (Sea server drops to around 1k online at offpeak atm, NA server drops to 12k online in offpeak atm)
Point being is everyones preferance will be different.
2. Technically there is 1000 ms in a second. So the differences in pings between a 150 ping and a 250 ping is 1/10th of a second.
Its still a noticeable difference and makes a difference in game play.
3. I don't want anything, lol. I just said there are many things to conciser. And different servers will suit different players depending on what they want.
And I don't have the power to re-open transfers, I'm just an adviser with such things.
My last advise on the topic was suggesting to first finalize when and where players within the AUS/NZ timezone could play clan-wars.
/Tan
