Reporting lag issues

Дата: 07.01.2012 07:51:46
Tanitha: HI Unknown.
Ive not had much experience with "Malaysia" so they might do something unusual that im not aware of, but still that ping plotter doesn't look right to me.
Let me go through it with you,
1. (step 1) that ip is a generic number which means "your computer" and obviously you have 0 ping to your own computer.
2. Is a Malaysian IP address, IE you connecting to your internet provider, (8 ping) so no problems there.
3. Another Malaysian IP, 7 ping, so no issues there and all normal up to here.
4. An IP which comes up on my searches as "Private" this seems kind of weird, because every other ones I've ever looked at has been a normal public address, And the ping is already 213 So whatever and wherever this is, you are already on a high ping. Which doesn't seem right all around..
5. Now as you can see by step 5, you are in Amsterdam, and now the pings very high and 333 and you are still in Europe.
Then it heads over to London, then over to America, and onto the WOT servers.
So step 4 I'm not sure what that is, Its either a virus, or traffic from Malaysia goes through somewhere listed as "private" and that's normal for Malaysia, I wouldn't know this.
Perhaps you could get a couple of your Malaysian friends to post their ping-plotters for comparison.
And also run another Trojan hunter like spybot search and destroy
http://www.safer-net...home/index.html
But 333 ping and still being in Europe and not even reached America yet, is going to create you lag issues, which obviously isn't WOT related since you are having issues before you get to America.
You might be able to ring your ISP and talk to them, they would know what is normal for Malaysia.
Short term fixes, you could run a VPN/Proxie, which will make your internet take a different path.
One i use is called hotspot shield , its free but it installs add's into your browser.
The adds can be switched off in Firefox, by a addon called addblockplus
So then you end up with a free VPN with no add's.
Long term solution, we are currently looking at installing a Cluster into SE Asia. if/when that's done, you would be able to connect to there directly, and have a great ping to a close by cluster.
If you need any more help let me know, and if you don't mind let me know how you went the the above, Id be interested.
Tan.
