What basically happened was Schperling : Minsk community manager did state that a +8 UTC tournament would follow the NA timezome tournament back in August.
However that also was the time that NA office started to kick in and take over the running of the NA server.
The first tournament put on by NA office was the IGN tournament ~1st October.

Since then NA office has continued to staff up, with the intention of putting on these tournaments as often as possible, rotating them between the NA timezone and the Oceania timezone.
We are also currently recruiting a specific Tournaments specialist, just for Tournaments

Currently I believe the plan is to have 3 regular tournaments.
1. A Large sponsored NA based tournament Such as the previous IGN tournament.
2. A mini tournament for the NA Timezone.
3. A mini tournament for the Oceania Timezone.
And those three to rotate.
So this being the first, of many, regularly scheduled, Oceania tournaments.
As you also may or may not have noticed.
All Kill the Mod, Kill the courier, type events, are all scheduled for both NA and Oceania timezones each event.
So KTM events, have been scheduled for the Oceania timezone each event on a regular basis for the last few months.
And we will continue to add continued support for the Oceania timezone.
