Next time get some serious cover, leave the Tds and the SPGs hide in bushes, because they have a anti-spotting advantage and they cannot take hard cover because they can't shoot from there. But you can.

I would guess what you did wrong was.. When you first got fired at which missed, you should have got out of there before the arty even reloaded. It seemed obvious that you had been spotted and arty was focused on you, and a direct hit can hurt a medium tank.
*Edit, OP said he wasn't tracked, but when you are tracked by arty, same deal, using a 3k repair kit and getting out of there before they reload, can save you 15k in repairs, and you might go on to get a few kills and earn a extra 20k credits on top. Help your team win, and improve your stats. Etc..
