Bots anywhere now

Pigeon_of_War: I remember when we had this topic discussed back in April. I will
post here what I posted then.
So here is the thing about bot complaints, when we get them we send them off to be investigated. We aren't allowed to do the following: 1. Say what we look for in the investigation 2. Say how many we investigate. 3. Say the name of the player(s) we are investigating. 4. Say what happens to the players that are reported. Consider this, someone has to make those bot programs and if their "customers" come complaining to them saying they got caught and how, and this information becomes very public, then the bot creators will just make stronger bot programs. I know it seem frustrating when you might see a bot and want them out of the game, but rest assured we take every bot complaint made to us VERY seriously and will take action if it is needed. The whole topic can be read here:

See the bot programs people use they pay for, and the more we report that people we banned for using the program, the more data the bot program makers have. This way, not only do we not violate our Privacy Policy, but we aren't given public metrics to the people creating those bot programs. Now I will be the first to say or bot tracking system isn't foolproof, but with each report we receive we do make a serious concerted effort to remove idle/leeching players from the game. I mean, why wouldn't we?
As mentioned per the repeated question of if we will post names of people suspended, the short answer is no. Though our investigations are exhaustive, consider this:
Someone in our bot tracking group makes a mistake, and accidentally bans and marks the incorrect person for botting. That person now becomes a pariah in the community and now no matter what they say people will see them as a bot program user, even though it was a mistake. That's not fair to the player, and it's not fair to the community to loose a potentially good player due to a mistake. Unfortunately, I can't go over how our bot tracking team works nor can I discuss investigation procedures (obvious reasons), but I can say that many hours each day are spent removing bots from the game.
