Elite tanks after patch

So patch day comes, they add a tank under this in the tech tree now adding more thing to train to each of these tanks which in turn should make them non elite tanks, but they still are elite.
This creates a problem when trying to use EXP for the next level of tank. How you ask, well when you open the research window, all you get is the convert exp button or crew training multiplier. No longer does this tank recieve exp and bonus exp, but also you cannot use any saved up bonus exp on these tanks to move up the tier.
solution, remove elite status from them?
