I understand what your saying and others but the cheapest purchase in this game is premium. With you already expressing nothing beyon platooning you would spend money on...Nothing Well that means you would never pay a dime for anything. I am rather happy that gold is a perk more then "pwn power" compared to many other games. Bonus to exping and the conveience of grouping is the base line perk for supporting the game also personally if by playing solo or in sync counts you cannot decide if you like the game enough to drop a couple bucks, then odds are your a hard sell regardless and likely to move on to another free game instead of a few dollars here and supporting the game company.
Basically the perks for premium are the base investment and the core support of the game. While the rest of the gold stuff is above and beyond while keeping things pretty level
