The production server, where the customers play. And there is a beta test server, available for every russian accounts (not up all the time afaik) where they get the patch even before it is rolled out to the russian production one. On this server, the reward is boosted for every battle with a huge multiplier (10 or even more afaik), so in a single day or two anyone can grind up from zero to the high tiers.
So the situation looks like this:
- Russian beta server gets the patches first
- then rolled out to the russian normal server
- then rolled out to the EU/US so called beta servers (several weeks later).
So for example, on the russian beta server you could try the T-54 weeks before it was rolled out to the EU beta. And you could test it in a day.... :) I know, there were huge T54s battles on that server, where 14vs14 T54s pounded each other. Probably that was why it was not nerfed - the devs tougth it is average tank :)
Thats what I call beta testing, not the endless monthly grinds what we do where a softwipe is a grace from god :) Nevertheless, I enjoy it, but beta testing is something different than what we here, especially on the EU/US servers, cause we are the last ones getting the shiny toys.

MrVic: The public supertest server is not limited to who can be on it, just have to create a RU account (takes about 2mins), since they base its login info off that database due to larger populace. also since its a day or so of stress test on the patch to make sure it had no instant server destroying problems. The core of the patch in its raw form is in Russian for the testing but many EU players login and play, there is no restrictions for it. Its very short term and only been done a few times when there could be changes that might cause issues. Its about testing the server build not the content. Long term play is what testing the hardest to find problems.
