I have a puzzle

Lert: Well, the consensus seems to be that my initial suspicion was right; I hit his gun, too far from the hull to splash, and the saving throw saved his module (or he repaired). You know, 'realistically' that gun should've been toast of course, but as long as there's an explanation that fits with the gameplay mechanics I can't really complain I suppose.
