Lert:
AFAIK this beautiful beast is
called AMX 65t. It's an AMX 50B hull with conventional turret. It
was featured in old trailers for the original french tree
introduction, but quietly dropped off the radar. WG has a
functional model of it in at least playable condition, so why not?
+ AMX 50B hull is an amazing hull. Very mobile, low profile,
very good frontal armor profile + Conventional turret, so no
autoloader bullcrap + That looks like the 120mm rifled gun we all
know and love from the 50B, 50 120, T110E5, Conqueror and FV215b
heavy, that's a damn good gun - It's french - While the hull is low
profile, the turret certainly is not - The turret is 15 tons
heavier than on the 50B, so the tank will be slower than the 50B
+/- depending on armor profile on turret might be very soft and
easily killed, or good from the front and bad from the side.
Note on the turret: While the french high tier tanks aren't
known for their bouncy armor, the mantlet at least looks well
sloped and, depending on WG's stat-fudging, could be made to be
very bouncy. It's also large enough to cover most of the frontal
armor profile of the turret. So while I don't have any stats
regarding the 'historical' armor of the 65t, WG could make it as
soft or as bouncy as they please, giving them a good way to balance
this tank. Plus, if they do make the frontal arc of the turret very
bouncy but the sides very soft, that might make it a very
interesting tank to play, compared to the other high tier french
tanks. Also, the turret being 15 tons heavier than the 50B turret
opens up the path to it being better armored. Plus, it being
a conventional turret instead of an oscillating one makes it more
likely to have a conventional gun without autoloader.
