Lert's tier 3 challenge

Lert: Battles 31 - 40: Thirtyfirst battle, Karelia, top tier. I go
and support the hill / donut. Get some good damage out relative to
my performance so far, until an autocannon tears me a new one. Team
lost. 
Thirtysecond battle,
Erlenberg, vs tier 4's. I got some very good damage in, got sniped
by a tier 4 TD, team narrowly won. 
Thirtythird battle. Mines, top tier. Got some damage out, got
clubbed by a Pz II J. Team lost. 
Thirtyfourth battle,
Arctic Region, vs tier 5's. I fired 5 APCR at a Matilda, 3 went
through, got got by a DW2. Team lost. I lost credits. 
Thirtyfifth battle,
Ensk, top tier. I had a good game with record damage. Got killed.
Team won. Got 1st class badge. 
Thirtysixth battle,
Province, top tier. G clubber on the other team in a Locust. I get
two shots off on a T82 before he derps me. Team loses. 
Thirtyseventh battle,
Kharkov, vs tier 5's. I found a T1 Heavy. I got three shots off,
one of which APCR, before he killed me. No damage done. Team lost.
Still made credits. 
Thirtyeighth battle,
Karelia, top tier. Did some good damage, got killed, team lost. As
so many times before. 
Thirtyninth battle,
Malinovka, top tier. I did some damage, got autocannoned. Team
lost. Bleh. 
Fortieth battle,
Himmelsdorf, top tier. Got some decent damage out, team won,
actually survived. Woo. Used two APCR at the front of a
distant T18, still made a profit. 
Thoughts after 40
battles: I think the main problem is not whether or not I
can be effective in this tank, but whether or not I feel like I'm
effective. I don't. Even when I'm top tier, I feel ineffective.
Rare are the games that I do more than my own hitpoints in damage.
Out of 40 battles, I feel I 'carried' maybe one or two at most. It
might be partially my playstyle, but also WG's way of doing things
and balancing. Medium III is a weak tank. Stats so far:
Battles played: 40 Win rate: 45% Mastery: Ace DPG: 213
Survival rate: 5% APCR fired: 22 Battles with a credit loss
(assuming standard account): 6 Top tier battles: 21 Battles vs tier
4: 6 Battles vs tier 5: 13 Net profit made (assuming standard
account): 120627
