The Last Waffenträger Event: Tactics Guide

Jambijon: Greetings Tankers! The Last Waffenträger event is in full swing and before we hit the weekend, I wanted share some of the tactics we've found to be pretty useful and effective.  A lot of this will seem pretty obvious but it's good information regardless. For all basic information about the event, check out our portal article: The Last Waffenträger Event! T55 Thunderbolts: Work together or lose Avoid the Waffentrager! Do your best to keep out of line of sight and try to put some distance in between you. Don't stick around just to get a bot kill, they won't go anywhere. Your lives are more valuable, especially during early game. The energy packs will stay on the map indefinitely so you can always come back to it when it's less risky. If you have lives to spare closer to end game, a sacrifice can make or break the game. The energy pack doesn't need to be collected for the next wave of bots to spawn.  Just wipe the bot squad to get the next tier spawned. Ram the bot tanks in the 1st spawn!  You can get away with ramming the 2nd spawn as well but be prepared for taking more damage. Try not using your boost to get more ram damage on heavier tanks. You'll more than likely just take unnecessary damage. (But it is really satisfying ) Take advantage of your mobility! Try to make the WT reposition if you have their attention.  Kiting the WT is extremely helpful for your teammates who are engaging the bots. Stay out of it's EMP blast radius.  The inner most circle can do major damage while the outer radius will shock you (stun your tank). This blast goes through any objects or obstructions. If there's no way out try to occupy the WT attention for as long as possible. Use your boost!  Either for escape or relocating across the map.  There isn't a need to have multiple teammates trying to collect the same energy pack so get to safety or to the next spawn. Just keep in mind that time relocating is time not spent on killing bots. Your medkit can remove the shocked effect. Shoot the bot's engines! The bots have an extremely high chance of catching fire when their engine is struck. Focus fire the bots! It's better the get a gun out of the fight than maximizing damage output. Try not to tunnel and snipe bots from too far.  The T55's gun isn't the best at long distances. Bot's spawn level and location is shown on the mini-map! Keep the WT spotted! If you have no vision on it and you're confident your team can handle the bots, do some quick recon. Harassing the WT  The WT shouldn't be worried about anything lower than level 5 shooting it so you might want to wait till your team is around level 5-6. While relocating or waiting for the next spawn take some pot shots at the WT. The WT has no weak points so it doesn't matter where you shoot it. You can easily circle the WT but do so when there's cover around and keep in mind of its EMP abilities. Be sure to be opposite to your team and bot spawns when shooting the WT. Don't sit in front of bots.  They deal damage too. Annihilate the WT! Around level 7-8 you can start to deal decent damage to the WT but still focus down the bots if able. At 9-10 swarm the WT and be sure to hit it from all sides while staying out of reach of the EMP blast. Level 10 bots (E100, Maus, PzVII, etc) are slow but dish out a lot of damage so don't get reckless just yet. If you have lives to spare, be aggressive but efficient.  You want to take the attention away from teammates that may have no more lives to spare. Make the WT use its bad traverse speed with a full surround. It is possible to bounce a WT shot so hull down positions can be effective. Remember, it takes a max of 2 shots from the WT to destroy you.  Waffenträger auf E 110: Shoot tanks.. Secure the kill! Since the T55s can heal a portion of health from the energy pack, focus weaken tanks. Don't be afraid of reloading the clip.  It doesn't take too long. Shoot tanks Rush them to break them up from attacking your minion tanks. Use your EMP shell or blast to slow down pesky circling or fleeing T55s Shoot tanks Shoot...   Of course there is probably a lot more strategies being developed so if you have any be sure to share! GLHF!
