The sheriff is long since dead

Hypnotik: Hey all,   This Sheriff event has concluded as of 4 AM this morning (no worries, there will be more), but I want to point out that as a whole OTTER has actually been very well-behaved during this event. There was one penalty handed out during the whole event, and it wasn't even for doing anything to another player. When someone abuses these accounts, you can guarantee we'll get several support tickets for each infraction - and the person in charge of the event (in this case, me) will check in with our support team OTTER did nothing to "tarnish the honor" of these accounts - they actually did a great job of playing them how we had asked them to (sure they'd be more heavily weighted towards the higher tiers, but they did a great job of playing at all tiers so a wider portion of the player base could benefit from this event.   A few people were discussing in this topic the purpose of these accounts - there are a couple. For the players on these accounts, it's obvious - it was a reward for them to get to play these fully-elited accounts with all tanks (including the rare ones), all the gold, and all the crew skills. They also got to be the ones who gave away a ton of gold (I don't have the final tally yet, but it's in the millions) to other players. For the players who play against the Sheriffs, at face value, it's a way to get 250 gold - but it's a little more than that. This is a way for them to personally benefit from an event that either their clan wasn't able to make it into, or they couldn't get into it because they weren't in a clan (in this case, the event is the Invitational Tournament, in others it's the pro league). That's where the gold for these sheriff events comes from, it's part of the allocated prizing for those major events.   Lastly, I would really like to thank all of the OTTER players who participated in the Sheriff event. I'm glad you guys enjoyed yourselves, and brought enjoyment and a prize to many others. Great job - you deserved this prize and handled it very well.   -Hyp
