Land Holding Clans.Hypnotik: Communication is something that we have been working towards
improving since both Q and myself have begun working at WGA. One
thing that changed instantly is that you now have a very clear idea
of who to go to for any questions/issues you may come across
regarding Clan Wars now that two people are dedicated specifically
to Clans & Clan Wars. You may also want to take a look at topics we
have created like this one.
Tenet, on Sep 18 2013 - 20:09, said: 2. Lack of Accountability and Progress Reporting on things that
will be implemented 'Soon'.Hypnotik: There is internal accountability with updating Clan Wars and things
around it, however you must also understand that development takes
quite a bit of time if you want it to be done properly.
Tenet, on Sep 18 2013 - 20:09, said: 3. Lack of Volunteer Programs - content modification, elite testing
groups, forum moderation.Hypnotik: There are volunteer programs already (Community Contributors,
Council of Armored Forces, feedback groups). Much of this already
happens, even if it's hidden away from most players' view.
Membership in these are usually invite-only or application based,
allowing only those who have proven themselves to be responsible
and productive towards the community.
Tenet, on Sep 18 2013 - 20:09, said: 1. Map Variety Full Access - The last two polls showed that over
80% of Land Holding Players want ALL the available maps to be
represented on the North American continent, regardless of their
theme or 'relevance'.2. Map Shuffling for Resets - A slightly less popular, but still majority supported idea is to shuffle the map during resets, from campaign to campaign, and prior to Sandbox. The algorithm has to avoid placing maps like "Province" on landing zones or Gold Pots (if not removed entirely), and avoid placing the same map in a row, in the same region (no more "highway->highway->highway")
Hypnotik: As Superspeed stated, this is something we are working on already.
We have even had discussion about this with the Council of Armored
Forces.
Tenet, on Sep 18 2013 - 20:09, said: 3. Clan Rivalry / Diplomacy forum Rating increased from [E]
Everyone to [T] Teen or possibly [M] Maturehttp://www.esrb.org/...guide_print.jsp
"Content is generally suitable for ages 13 and up. May contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling and/or infrequent use of strong language."
The current rating where all strong language, regardless of context or intent, where all insults of any form are prohibited, is entirely unacceptable for a Rivalry forum.
Hypnotik: It also states that online interactions are not rated. They are
governed by the EULA you agreed to when posting on the forums.
There can be rivalry and competitiveness without bringing up the
other person's mother.
Tenet, on Sep 18 2013 - 20:09, said: 4. Clan Rivalry / Diplomacy moderation transferred to a team of
Volunteers from Top Land Holding Clans*Hypnotik: I don't see this ever happening. You can't assess a person's
ability to moderate based on how much land their clan has on the
map and "top clans" change with some frequency. Abuse of a system
such as this would likely be frequent.
Tenet, on Sep 18 2013 - 20:09, said: 5. Clan Forums to have a Subforum titled "Conflict Resolution"
which will be overseen by the WG CW Staff, where any disputes
regarding volunteer-moderator decisions can be presented and
resolved ( final appeals based on volunteer-moderator majority
vote).Hypnotik: All appeals can already be submitted through our Support system.
Final decisions will always be made by WG.
Tenet, on Sep 18 2013 - 20:09, said: 6. Clan Wars Suggestions Forum opened where only Diplomats from Top
Land Holding Clans* can post and comment, but which can be seen by
the entire community (Read Only).Suggestions initiated by players not covered by that definition will either have to be presented by someone on that list, or posted normally on the general suggestion forum.
Hypnotik: The Ultimate Conquest forum seems a pretty
good place for this already.
Tenet, on Sep 18 2013 - 20:09, said: 7. Community Created Clan Wars Videos to be featured on the Front
Page - currently the main eligible example would be Anfield's
series of Clan Wars videos. Over a Month ago I asked Anfield if he
is interested, and then brought the issue before Hypnotic, both
liked the idea. Hypnotic promised to forward that suggestion, and
nothing has been heard about that since. It's in the interest of both the community and Wargaming to promote Clan Wars, and nothing promotes them better then an insider view into the Drama and Combat.
Editing out any rating or copyright content is not a problem - editors can be given clear guidelines and a sort of a 'press-pack' with music and graphics that can be used.
Hypnotik: I still like the idea. Anfield has also not posted one since then
(other than the M60 1v1, which was funny but was not front page
material), so it's a little bit difficult to promote what hasn't
been made. We are in contact with a few additional content creators
(always open to hear from more), and hope to see some good things
going up soon.
