well ask; what are some good tips and tricks to avoid getting
wailed into by tanks hiding behind cover that don't uncloak after
firing? I run mostly American mediums/German mediums and
heavies, currently stuck in the T6/T7 range (sitting around like 2K
games so far, which apparently is still noob-level for most folks
I've been talking to) and frankly its become disheartening when I'm
trying to support the heavies and usually end up getting shot at
from behind concealment or cover, and usually end up dying without
being able to get a shot off at any of the shooters. It's
essentially gotten to the point where I have to be "the coward"
sitting as far back as I can at the edge of my vision range lobbing
shells at long range to avoid getting focused and ripped apart.
What the heck am I supposed to be doing aside from trying to
find the largest rock I can find, hiding behind it, sniping and
hoping that arty doesn't decide I should be their next target?Hambijon: It sounds like you are progressing at a pretty good
pace. There's quite a lot of good feedback here so I'll share
my general thinking when I go through this scenario. When you
go into an area where you assume will be some hidden tanks, it's
always a good idea to be aware of the location of your spotters, as
well as your own view range. Like most said, after getting
hit, find some cover, communicate with your team, or
relocate. Sometimes taking a "pot shot" at your hit marker
can be worth it if you have no other targets. But yes, it
will all boil down to experience and tank knowledge. Also
including this helpful video. It's a little old but the core
mechanics have stayed the same:
