Wargaming's Own FAQ

Дата: 08.04.2015 00:41:50
KV-5 for top reward...cmon a Type 59 would be so much better.   Cool contest in general tho.  Type 59s are planned as prizes as the year progresses. :)

HBFT:

So everyone on the NA server is already automatically signed up??? Or do we need to sign up ourselves (I don't think you mentioned that)... if so... where do we?  Everyone playing on the NA server (in the appropriate tier for the current month) is automatically recorded by the back-end systems.  There is no need to signup externally anywhere.  You can see the appropriate tiers here.

HBFT:

Are Canadians and people living in Quebec also eligible for those prizes ?  Yes, the majority of the prizes for Wargaming's Own are digital prizes so there should be no problem for anyone to win anything.  With regards to physical prizes as they come out, we will work with the winners to come up with a mutually beneficial resolution if that time comes.

HBFT:

thye should have done it at tier 3 to start, my pack would love to get a kv-5 for a stablemate.  We realized that Wargaming's Own would encourage quite a number of skilled players to play in the month's appropriate tier and we wanted to maintain a friendly environment for newer players. :)

HBFT:

Is there going to be actual leaderboards for this, or do we have to just play and guess at how well we are doing?  There will be a bunch of leaderboards posted here.  We are looking to update it twice a week at first and potentially get it to update more than that. :)

HBFT:

if you have the tanks for the rewards given already, do you get gold instead? I have all the tanks listed as prizes already, so unless I were to get the gold equivalent I don't see the point in participating. that and it would let others get a chance of getting the rewards.:)  Yes you would get the gold equivalent. Also, placing now would help you get better rewards later down the road.

HBFT:

what if you already have the kv-5 and the type 62 and dont have the type 64 and the b2, can we switch them out. say if i get the 3rd place and get a tank i already have will i have the option to get the b2 or no?   Unfortunately, you would only receive the gold equivalent in the event that you have a duplicate vehicle.  That having been said, getting onto a tank-winning position on any leaderboard will get you a large number of points which will position you well to get into even better prize pools!

HBFT:

seriously why did you have to make this tier 4... it's so boring  It is going to be tiers IV-X. It changes every month.  May even bring the lower tiers in depending on how the MM changes work.

HBFT:

On past events "failplatooning" was considered rigging and you were disqualified for it. I assume the same will apply here.  Yes. This will not be allowed and anyone caught doing this will be disqualified from all contests in the future.

HBFT:

I assume that a "full month" is basically April 1st - 30th?  "Note: A month is defined as 00:01 UTC on the 1st of the month until 23:59 UTC on the last day of the same month." (From http://worldoftanks.com/en/content/wargamings-own/wgown-rules/)

HBFT:

Do random battles in platoons count?  Yes, random battles in platoons will count.

HBFT:

Also All you have to do is play tier 4's so much in random battles in order to be on the leader board. Tier 4's? that's it? The month of April is set for Tier IV.  (The rest of the months are posted here until the end of the year)  Just play in the current month's appropriate tier and you have a chance at getting that really great game that will get you onto the leaderboards! :)

HBFT:

Is there any info on prizes for the seasonal and year-long overall leaderboards? Are overall positions based on best score in one class, or best score across all classes?  For example, if someone gets 20 points as a light tank, 30 points as a heavy, and 50 points as a TD, would their overall score be 50 or would it be 100?  "Our first prize lineup for April is below with a veritable deluge of in-game vehicles, Gold, and Premium time! As time goes on, rewards for the season and the year will include special camo, in-game achievements, and great physical prizes!" (From http://worldoftanks.com/en/content/wargamings-own/wgown-rules/)
Overall positions are based on cumulative points from any Class Leaderboard for the respective interval of measurement (season, year-long, etc.)  For your example, the overall score would be 100.

HBFT:

Why are premium vehicles allowed? We actually went back and forth about allowing premium vehicle play and in the end it seemed like Tier IV would be the most affected by this type of situation.  As the tiers go higher and classes are more equally represented, I do not see premium vehicles being as much of a concern.

HBFT:

So just our best match from each class is used? It isn't like a best average XP thing? Good lord, this is going to be a huge event though. Monthly rewards + probably even bigger rewards at the end of the year! Only the best single random battle is considered.  We are not considering averages.  We are holding off on announcing season and year-long rewards, but yes we do have pretty big prizes that we are wrangling for this competition. :)

HBFT:

Nice to have this kind of competition come back after a long time. Anyone has an outside chance to win something. How come the rewards aren't always the class of vehicle you use to win them? There are a number of rewards that will accompany players as they play in the current month's appropriate tier, whether it is an in-game mission to make the playing experience a more enjoyable one or even something as intangible as being able to see what the next tier is on the rules FAQ and check if you made it onto a leaderboard here.  (It should be noted that battles just started today (April 1), so there is no data to post in a leaderboard just yet)

HBFT:

Will there be daily leader boards? Will there be anyway of seeing what the top scores are as we go?  We are looking to update the leaderboards on a two-times-a-week cadence at the start.  We would like to post a baseline leaderboard-set sometime today.  (These leaderboards would only cover the games from 4/1)

HBFT:

In my opinion you should keep it simple and exclude platoons. This will eliminate debates about what is acceptible level of assistance by A platoon mate. But if you are going to allow platoons you need to explicitly define acceptible combinations.  I.e. can a tier 4 lt platoon with a tier 4 med, and play in a tier 7 match?   We definitely discussed the exclusion of platoons from generating valid base XP scores for this competition, but there were a few obstacles in the way that made it less than feasible to do so.  Part of Wargaming's Own is that it is a competition that everyone enters organically just by playing.  It was our hope that this would be something exciting that people could participate in without separating players from playing with their friends for an entire year.   That having been said, as this competition progresses in its current format we will learn many things about what works and doesn't work (e.g. platoons, etc.).  That way we can adjust it in the future.   With regards to the current situation, what is acceptable regarding platooning?   At the moment we are treating each situation on a case-by-case basis.  Fortunately, the leaderboards naturally restrict the field from which we will need to keep an eye on (we will not have to look at every single entry on the NA server, thank goodness).  Personally, as scout matchmaking provides a 3-tier spread, I would keep my platoon tier spread within that range.  However, as I stated prior, we realize that there are players who are a part of this competition who may not even realize it themselves.   So, when you're playing I just ask that you have fun, compete if you want to, or just enjoy the fact that everyone has access to some neat missions/prizes to go along with their regular play...and know that we're not here looking to ban a bunch of accounts for violating some contest rule.  Above all, Wargaming's Own should enrich your experience, not detract from it.   I hope that answers your question and sorry for getting kinda preachy. :P

HBFT:

Will the WT auf E100 be allowed once Tier 10 comes around, if not replaced already? Any vehicle from a month's appropriate tier is eligible for a leaderboard score.
