[ST] Grand Battle Map

Gnomon: Today, we’re rolling out the 4th iteration of this map. In
case you’ve missed the previous announcements/posts, it was
conceived as an open map in a Soviet setting, with fighting
possibilities spread over every nook-and-cranny. Players were given
opportunities for relatively safe movement between different zones
and extending their attack after winning a fight in a key
location. What has changed in the 4th version: A part of
the city has been re-worked. Judging by the feedback we received,
it was too complex. Players had navigational problems and weren’t
sure from which direction they should expect an enemy to appear.
Due to this, we thought the city needed a re-work. The edges
of the map have now been made traversable. The players wanted to
make use of these zones, and we completely agreed with the idea.
The parts in the east and in the west have been redesigned. The map
stats showed that they were mostly utilized by medium tanks. But,
we are going for more tank class diversity in these areas. There’s
now more cover for the bases. The stats from the previous test
showed us that capping was difficult because the bases were far too
open. As always, the test results will define what happens
