Premium Medium Madness: FV4202

Gnomon: Hey everyone, Hope that you’re having a great week so far! With the current FV4202 sale going on, I wanted to go over the in-game history of this tank and talk about how to get the best performance out of it. The FV4202 is currently a Premium British Tier VIII Medium tank. However, this wasn’t always the case. Up until patch 9.12, the FV4202 was a British Tier X Medium tank. When it was a Tier X, it had a similar playstyle to the current version (but it did not perform as well). And the turret of the 4202 was problematic in these high Tiers, where a lot of high-pen rounds were flying around. At this point, the tank needed to be changed. With Update 9.12, we announced that the Tier X version of this tank would be replaced with the then-new Centurion Action X. With this, the FV4202 was later rebalanced as a Tier VIII Premium tank. As part of the rebalance, the decision was made to remove its premium HESH round, and replace it with APCR. However, it needed some quality of life changes after we tested it in 9.20. We received a lot of feedback on the FV4202 during this time, and we decided to adjust its stats and show it some love to make it feel better to play and more maneuverable. 9.20.1 stats  In patch 9.20.1, we gave the tank a few buffs. We received a fair amount of feedback during this time stating that the tank had poor mobility. We agreed that it could use some changes, and we gave it a 650 H.P. engine and more turret armor. These changes made the tank feel more comfortable to play. As of today, the tank is going strong as a Tier VIII and available to pick-up in the Store. If you take the FV4202 out on the battlefield, be sure to do your best to provide support for your team. Keep in mind that the tank is not a speedster and should not be in direct brawls. Instead, use your great gun depression and firepower to take some quick shots over ridges. The reliable accuracy of the gun will only help out with your peek-and-poke.  Also, be sure to keep hull-down as much as possible. Your turret can often take a hit that might otherwise tear through your lower armor. Stay back a bit, and snipe to your heart’s content.  Here are the current stats for the FV4202: Tankopedia - FV4202 Stats for the lazy like me   Think that the FV4202 might be your cup of tea?
