birthday next month. He mainly plays XBox games but he likes
to play WoT with his older brother. My older son has a gaming
pc that runs 50-60 fps on a 47" 1080p screen. My younger sons
experience on our 4 year old mid-level laptop, is not quite the
same.

So, dad to the rescue
(Hopefully). I can pick out all of the peripherals, monitor
and more basic hardware. I would like to get suggestions for
the cpu, motherboard, ram and video card. I do not really
have a budget limit. However, keep in mind that this will
likely only be used for WoT for several years. In another 5
or so years, I can see him getting into more heavy pc gaming.
At which point I would upgrade whatever necessary to get the pc up
to high performance specs. So, though I do not have a budget
limit, I do not want to throw money away for performance I will not
need on this build, and therefore will not use by the time it is
several years old (Outdated), that will end up being upgraded when
the time comes anyway. Thank you in advance for your
suggestions. Also, does anyone have experience playing WoT
on Linux? A friend of mine is trying to tell me that is the
way to go. I did a quick google search and see that people do
play on a Linux OS. Just wanted to get feedback from anyone
who actually does. Thank you again.
GhostPrime: World of Tanks is built for Windows. There are ways to run
Wot on Linux, but I don't suggest that because its unsupported by
us, and while it would be fantastic for your son to learn Linux,
WIndows is the standard.
Here s a link to
the system requirements for World of Tanks. Please note the
recommended requirements, not the minimum.
