GeneralDirection: Somehow I think calling for a weekend without Garbad as a special seems wrong, even if my troll instincts tell me it's okay.
The reality is we rarely offer bonuses for SPGs across the board. The M7 gets a lot of love because of its historical use, but for the most part SPGs are the redheaded stepchildren of events. We want to see if the recent balancing has helped bring them more inline, and an event is the best way to do so.
Not only that, but we can't ignore a type of vehicle because there are concerns about it. We have to get feedback and data to make the call. This event will help.
P.S. For those clamoring to focus on vehicles not being played much: we do. And despite popular opinion, SPGs are being played less now.
