matchmaker should ultimately function with respect to the following
list of player percieved faults? What is the goal moving
forward?Tier spread viewed as too wide, players at the bottom don't feel they can compete with those at the top.
GeneralDirection: Yes, this is something we're aiming to fix. I'm not going to say it
will be an across-the-board reduction in tier spread, because some
vehicles perform just fine even with their current tier spreads.
But there are tanks we're looking at to receive the same treatment
as the tier 5 heavies.

e.g. light tanks as scouts (those not part of a dedicated light
branch of the research tree).GeneralDirection: Yes, right now all light tanks of those "dedicated" tiers are
treated as scouts. We'll probably be changing that though, but it
will be on a case-by-case basis.

might think since we can't necessarily tell people what vehicles
they should be playing at any given time.

reduction or is this likely to be tweaked on a tank by tank basis?GeneralDirection: A global reduction is unlikely, but yes we are reviewing on a
tank-by-tank basis.

of 236m, is put constantly in tier 9 battles?Oh, and I don't mean the party line of BS, i.e. "you're a scout", as it's patently obvious you are NOT a scout with that sort of view range.
I'd like a sensible explanation, especially as you MUST play it if you want a T-34, AND there ARE now dedicated 'scout' vehicles (with useful guns, I might add) for those who want to play that way. Of course the Pz38nA, a requirement for the PzIV, and the M5 Stuart, required for the M4, are the same. Indeed, why is it people who want to play THE most famous vehicles of WWII have to go through this?
Seems to be it's just damned laziness not to have addressed this absurdity for so long now.
If a dev would deign to reply and convince us otherwise, be delighted to hear it.
Cheers
GeneralDirection: Well, the answer is that it's because the tank is considered a
scout tank right now. I'm sorry if you find that unacceptable, but
it's the way the MM is designed at the moment. It's why we're
rewriting the algorithm.
