I'm not sure how much this would deplete the overall gold payouts for the winners, but most people I think agree that the payouts are pretty generous right now, lets spread the wealth a bit.
GeneralDirection: To be completely honest, this is not practical in the current state
of the tournament tool. We would have to manually submit payment
requests for every single player in the tournament each time a
round is played.
It's an intriguing idea though, so I'll note it down as a possible request for new features.
