the competition date (which it is this time), I don't see any
problem at all - mods, downloads, or any other issue. My concern was for the Asia-Pacific players for whom the competition time-slot is in the morning. If the patch was deployed less than 24 hours before the competition, they may not have time to wake up, download and update their game (or even run a single battle) before things are scheduled to start.
As it is the competition starts only a few hours after Daylight savings finishes in Australia, so we may well have people showing up at the wrong time anyway!
GeneralDirection: Yeah luckily with the league play there's very little chance of the
update taking place the same day. But for other tournaments it's
likely that we would delay the rounds by a day if a round was
taking place on the same day as an update.
