that right before our finals match, we had 1 person whose internet
was down the night before because of his provider, another who had
a power outage in his city, and our reserve who had gotten swamped
with work after we signed up and locked all the members into our
team. He couldn't practice with us during the tourney, and since we
had changed our strategy so much during the tourney he couldn't
really fight with us. Until about 30 minutes before the finals
started, we seriously believed we were going to be fighting 4 v 5.
The thing we have to remember is that this is just a game, and a
lot of things can come up that would take precedence over the
tournament or keep us from being able to play. Emergencies can and
do happen, and for groups like mine that don't play the game
religiously, a 3rd reserve would give us a fair chance against the
clans that do play religiously.TL;DR: Emergencies or other higher priority activities come up, and so a 3rd reserve would be ideal.
GeneralDirection: Yep, I've included a third reserve regardless. The standard rules
so far are:
1. Game Mode: 5-vs.-5
2. TeamSize: 8; 5 participants and 3 reserve players
3. Substitutions: Players may be substituted freely between battles within a round, but must be on the roster as of the start of the tournament
4. Victory conditions: The first team to win 2 battles will be the winner and will be qualified to continue onto the next round
5. Battle duration: Each battle will last a maximum of 10 minutes; if there is not a winner within the time limit, the battle will be considered a draw
6. Breaks: There will be a 3 minute break between battles within a round
7. Off Days: Except where otherwise noted, there will be one off day between each round to allow for disputes and investigation of rule violations
