Not really, what it does is that walls, houses or other objects just go *poof* and instantlly are on the ground instead of seeing how they crumble down with the destruction physics on.
Edit: here I made a gif to show you how it looks when you destroy something with physics off, though I have a potato computer so do not worry, disabling it doesn't make the graphics like mine, heh...
