Can someone explain this to me about 'furriners'.

Einzelganger7: Well, I am from Spain with Spanish Mother and German Father but I came to study to this country because I have relatives who are US residents and this allowed me to get a student's visa so I know Spanish, English, and a little bit of German. Still if I were to say something on the internet like for example on a facebook/twitter post, nowadays I'd say it on English just because of the simple fact this language became into a standarized one, is that simple.
