Draschel: I have read lots of documentation about Tobruk, Kursk, Berlin, Kharkov, Iwo Jima, Ardennes  And I see mainly the same things. Artillery was able to deal with tank assault. But lets minus the generic term, artillery and classify it as "direct fire, anti-armor munitions''  VS  ''indirect fire, FRAG''  and lets classify too, tank disabled or crew possibly hurt/killed  VS  tank catastrophic destruction and wrecked. Dedicated anti-tank teams, weapons, direct fire guns grossly, f------ GROSSLY outweigh indirect saturation bombardment in lethality against vehicles.  You are arguing a means to an end. Use the right tool for the job. Guarantee your success with best odds, quickly, efficiently. Can a baseball bat crush a fly? Sure can, but hows a fly swatter compare? A magnesium underwater flare, great for lighting your cigarette? Wait, what about about a lighter?
