This is just wrong

DomoSapien: Just to echo what some folks have said, the Tiger I isn't really a 'heavy' tank in the traditional sense, implying that it's well-armored.

The Tiger was certainly a terror on the battlefield in WWII. There is no arguing against that. Such a terror, in fact, that the Tiger I is tiered up and facing vehicles in battle from an entirely different historical period. Were this a classic historical confirgation, you'd be seeing tigers going up against M4 Shermans and T-34s, which are two tiers lower in the tech tree.

I wouldn't say we hate the Tiger, more like we respect the Tiger so much we classed it up a couple of tiers so that it wouldn't be completely unstoppable in a 15v15 battle format.   Had production issues not halted the AMX 13 57 project, historically the tank would have been ready for production sometime in the 1950s, well after the debut of the Tiger I and the King Tiger projects. The 13 57 also has a punchy gun, and most 13 57 players tend to load APCR exclusively so they can play it as an aggressive light brawler/ambush tank. I wouldn't really say that being circled and penned by one of those in a Tiger I is indicative of the Tiger I being a bad tank or some greater philosophical debate about what merits a 'heavy' tank - simply put, the Tiger I is a Medium-Heavy sniper, and the 13 57 excels at getting behind enemy lines, circling & burning down the health bars of slow, squishy tanks.
