April Community Contributor Scavenger Hunt

Дата: 01.04.2020 19:53:48
DomoSapien: Lots of comments so I'll do my best to respond to them generally instead of individually quoting folks:

Re: Credit Boosters - I understand there are concerns about the reduced prizing, I wouldn't necessarily chalk it up to the event engineers being money-grubbing as I would chalk it up to them being really generous last year. Pretty much every month I was asking "Hey, are you sure we're not giving out too much prizing for Scavenger Hunt?" because that was a LOT of boosters. If I'm being completely honest, the more successful the April Scavenger Hunt, the better our chances of getting some cooler prizing approved for the next iteration of Scavenger Hunt. And since this is my project, I am very much invested in doing what I can to take y'all's feedback into consideration and craft the event so it's as engaging for y'all as possible. Some things we've chatted about with folks on our Discord included Credit Boosts as the final reward, or maybe some kind of Credit Boost Missions or Credit Boost weekend for Scavenger Hunt participants who reach a certain milestone. There is room for improvement, this iteration is very much me playing it safe to make sure the event gets greenlit, but we can get more ambitious with prizing for future Scavenger Hunts if/when they occur. I am definitely open to your suggestions.

Re: Folks complaining that they have to watch CC's - That's pretty much the point of the Scavenger Hunt. Without going into all the nitty gritty, there is data that shows players who engage with World of Tanks content outside of the game tend to be more engaged with the game as well. Our CC's get a nice bump to their metrics and hopefully some new followers, while players get stuff for watching them. I'll also let y'all in on a little secret: Every time we had a CC Scavenger Hunt last year, folks were compiling lists of all the codes on the Forums and on Reddit. If you don't wanna watch - just have one of those pages bookmarked and make sure to grab each code on the following day.  All of that said, though, it's an event designed to promote our Community Contributors and content creators. If you have limited time, no worries! But if you've got a second monitor, consider pulling up a CC stream or video while you play. We have a lot of really amazing folks in the program who put a ton of time and effort into their content, usually as a hobby or side gig because most of them are working other jobs and leading normal lives outside of creating WoT content. They could definitely use your support.

Re: Concerns about timing, specifically around the final few days: The event ends on May 1st at server reset (which is roughly 2AM PT) so unfortunately that won't leave a lot of time to grind out your x5's for the final code. I reached out to Zotz to see if he would be able to stream at an earlier time or switch with someone who can, that way y'all have a few more hours at least to get that final reward - so I will let everyone know once I have an update on that front.

It's something for me to keep in mind when drafting the next iteration of SH - we haven't really been able to come up with an ideal solution for the timing issue around the end of the month due to how our event plans work, but maybe some kind of extra week-long window is possible simply for completing the SH missions. We will certainly cross that bridge when we come to it.
