YouTube has become the stupidest thing ever.

DomoSapien: I've been using Google Play Music All Access since it came out several years ago. It's 10 bucks a month and comes with Youtube Red (which allows you to watch videos on your phone with the screen locked, and more importantly blocks all ads on Youtube.)

Obviously it's not ideal since it costs money but Google Play Music is a solid alternative to Spotify.
