most of the time. I'm laughing about the whole thing. 60% of the
posts in the forum are anger, just trying to lighten up the mood.
One of the earlier post I was trying to say something a pain in the
rear, by using the term for female dog, and it was blocked, and
then the general term for a group of less than bright individuals.
To which both were block. I thought it was funny and started this
post, partially to say "really", and just to see what everyone else
had to say. As for the use of the term "liberals", Although
often associated with a party, in this context it's not political
based, but more akin to a mindset of perpetual offensiveness. I am
offended by their offensiveness. :-) Oh, and thanks for the
praise about service! Others deserve it much more than I, but
thanks non the less.DomoSapien: Well, it didn't strike me as particularly political, so I didn't
remove it from your post
As for moderating the word 'idiot' on the forums, maybe the moderator was on the end of their shift and somehow mistook your comment as a non-constructive one being directed at another player. Sorry about that!
For what it's worth, looks like you didn't receive any warning points or forum sanctions for it, at least?

some very innocuous, though admittedly, non-constructive posts that
when I looked at what I got that sanction for I just laughed and
shook my head in disbelief! I mentioned that someone was more
of a donkey than a pig and it cost me. But it WAS Funny. OvODomoSapien: Unfortunately forum moderation is more of an art than a science. I
have a tremendous amount of respect for our moderation team,
especially considering their job is mostly a thankless one. We have
some folks in CS that are dedicated forum mods, like headlockmonkey
(whose name I'm surely misspelling) and jaystark01, and believe me
when I say their job is extremely difficult.
SO many situations come up where both people on either side of an argument are reporting eachother, and the whole damn thread technically could be hit with warnings - a lot of the job involves trying to figure out the context and circumstances, etc. There are a lot of really tough calls to make, and sometimes I find myself deferring to their expertise for a second opinion regarding certain forum threads, because they are intimately familiar with the forum rules.
That said... full disclosure? I usually don't go for the warning points unless it's particularly bad. I'm not too keen on 'thought-policing' and I'm lazy so I don't want to make extra work for myself.

The_Illusive_Man, on Mar 27 2019 - 12:09, said: Is there any list of blocked words? Knowing what you cant say can
be useful in forming coherent sentences. DomoSapien: There is, but it's not player-facing, and it's not absolute - we
still treat things on a case by case basis and read into the
context. I can give you a pretty good synopsis, however.
These are the most common chat violations, in no particular order:
Inappropriate Sexual Content - Anything sexual. Even childish things you might have been saying for decades. I won't elaborate because I probably don't need to. Derogatory Language - Anything Derogatory based on Race, Religion, Nationality, Sex, Gender, Orientation, Disability, etc. Threats of violence - If you tell someone you are going to physically harm them, their loved ones, their family etc. we take this very seriously and we reserve the right forward this information to law enforcement. Political Content - World of Tanks is not the place to debate who belongs in jail or who should show their tax returns. As much as I would love to hear your position on Gun Control, I'd much rather talk about the North Flank that could really use a few more TD's for support, or ask a scout to spot the field for me.

...why?
enjineer, on Mar 27 2019 - 12:44, said: 2 of my strikes for chat bans were for basic profanity (obviously
can't type them here). Yes I used them, yes I turn off chat
filter. My point is, if simple 4 letter words heard every day
can result in a ban, why even allow the filter to be turned off?its
not what you use, its how you use it.DomoSapien: There is a sanction called 'excessive profanity', and thank
you for bringing it up because it slipped my mind! We don't use
this one a lot, but if someone is flooding chat with a bunch of
F-bombs etc. in a short period of time, it makes chat pretty toxic
pretty quick. It definitely has a bandwagon effect, and then
eliminates any chance for anyone who is actually trying to talk
about the game they're playing.
On a side note, can you imagine if voice chat was global for your whole team? Boy, that would be madness.
