First, I would post them in general discussion. However, once I moved them to the Newcomer's forum, they started averaging much higher in pageviews.
Many new players interface with the forums precisely like I used to when I was a new player: For each person who comments on the thread, there are hundreds that simply open it, read it, enjoy it, and move on.
