loved playing Avalon Hill or SPI games back when board games were
all the rage. I played D&D for years back when the books for
the game were little paperbacks Greyhawk, Blackmoor, and
Eldritch Wizardry. Most of the time this is a very enjoyable game.
I think everyone has a few tweaks that they'd like to see, but you
aren't ever going to make everyone happy all of the time. DeviouslyCursed: Strange to see so many Avalon Hill fans on one forum. I like
it. You guys are making me remember all the games I played
that I haven't thought about in years. Panzer Leader, Panzer Blitz,
Tactics II, and Guns of August. But what do you mean "were"?
They still are as far as I'm concerned. Most the good ones you just
have to get off Kickstarter now though. For fantasy buffs,
Gloomhaven and Middara are really good. In fact, my organizer I
ordered for Middara just came in, so I'm all excited to get it all
"organized," lol. If you are set on wargames and don't have
anyone to play with, Thunderbolt Apache Leader is a really good
solo game. In fact, there is a whole line of games made by that
person/company.
