the original question, and I'll try to sum up some of the
pro-random arguments against SBMM, as well as I can, in this one
post. If I missed an argument against SBMM, it wasn't
intentional. There's a large number of them, and I haven't
read every post. Let's start with an example to
put things into perspective. Imagine that WOT and a few dozen
people (let's call them the Pro-Randoms) are in charge of the
National Basketball Association (NBA). [removed a
bunch of irrelevant stuff that I didn't bother to read] In
light of this example, have any Pro-Randoms' arguments against SBMM
convinced us that SBMM would be worse than Random*MM?
Should the NBA use the Pro-Randoms' Random MM* system to bring all
of these improvements to their games?
DeviouslyCursed: What the SBMM proponents don't want you to know if the NBA
implemented a actual SBMM system: The 96 championship Chicago
Bulls, when they played games in the 1997 season, would have
Scottie Pippen forced onto the opposing team every game in exchange
for a bench warmer from the opposing team. The Bulls were clearly
too good, and this would ensure more even matches. THAT IS
SBMM! Unless you want to argue that makes a good system, shut
the hell up about the NBA and any other professional sports system!
