Why do Some Argue Against Skill Based MM?

I was wondering when you would come out of the shadows....   I’m going to say so do we have any data regarding if ppl liked the changes or not, surveys, player count, increase time played?   to which you will say no, but we do have these stats. Sbmm is a bad idea   to which I will say I don’t think those stats are enough to stake the claim that it is always bad. And then repeat myself, that “almost all widely popular pvp games use it”   To which you will say, in a more convoluted way it is a bad idea.   in between somebody will say I’m a fool and tell their sad tale of how sbmm ruined a game, while all evidence points to the contrary.   It could be one of our most boring arguments yet.
  did I miss anything?

DeviouslyCursed:  "Modern Warfare's suicide stats suggest reverse boosting is becoming one of the biggest issues in the game. Players are committing suicide to sabotage their K/D ratio, which then puts them against lower-skilled players." https://www.altchar....mm-aQqam0X4H8fQ This is one of the things I immediately thought of if WoT goes to a SBMM. Run a bot all day, then when you play in the evening, your elo is so low you get to stomp everyone all night. While I personally wouldn't do this, you know there will be people who do. If WG implements SBMM and foolishly makes your rating based on the entire history of the account, purchase some scrubs 60K battles, 41% win rate account. Yes, you better believe this one I would definitely do.  Possibly multiple times. All of you thinking SBMM is the answer to all fights being equal, you haven't got a clue. Sorry.
