it counted as a draw then no one forfeited any battles, it would be
as if the first battle never happened, thus evening the playing
field, for as of right now the few teams that didn't have the
packet loss problem essentially got a freebee over the rest of us
for potential points earned (assuming they won). Also one battle
will not affect a team to the extent of dropping them from Alpha
Playoffs. It will determine however who truly deserves to be in the
top 10% and earn 5k gold for the group stage. For example my
team Liquid Myth missed the top 10% by 1 point and that was because
we were one of the teams who experienced serious packet loss and
basically had a draw forced upon us and same goes for the team we
faced that first battle (quack attack!). That is a potential of 2
points that we missed out on, and as I stated, 1 point can mean the
difference between top 10% and top 20%. So for clarity: I am
not saying this solution I am offering is perfect as you are right
the teams who didn't experience packet loss do deserve their
wins, but again they are a minority in this case and in a big
picture easy fix for all perspective, either scrapping or
considering the first battle as a draw is the best option.Captain_Judo:

that has been reserved for tiebreakers or for redoing group stages
in the event of technical difficulties. I doubt that WG has asked
for replays from affected teams for no reason. Redoing battles
would be the fairest way to determine placing as teams that got
hard earned victories would keep that victory while teams that lost
wouldn't benefit. Actually another compromise could be to
remove the draw only from the affected teams and let
them continue from there, considering that fighting less teams
overall is still considered 'fair' by WGCaptain_Judo: In order to grant remakes, our precedent has been that it
must be clear across the board. That is, it's an issue that affects
all participating teams. This was not the case on Monday
night. The majority of teams were not influenced by server issues
and forcing a remake of the round is unfair to the majority of
tournament participants. With that said, based on the
replays that were provided, we recognize the need to uniquely
address individual games. Immediately in effect is the following..
Skirmish Rules v2.1 Remakes & Server Issues Remakes: Granted at the discretion of tournament administration only under the condition that both team captains agree to replay the round. Each team captain must submit a replay of the round to tournaments@wargamingamerica.com within 24 hours. A forum PM must be directed to Dance210 that includes both team captains and confirms each captain's consent to a remake. Tournament administration will use the forum PM to confirm if a remake is granted. If a remake is granted, it will be scheduled to play after the next day's group battles or before tiebreakers. Monday remakes are played after group play Tuesdays Tuesday remakes are played after group play Wednesdays Wednesday remakes are played before tie breakers
Captain_Judo: This will allow us to grant individual remakes if there is a
need. Teams must be available to play after group stages on Monday
and Tuesday nights or before tie-breaker rounds on Thursdays.
All requests are managed on a case-by-case basis and there
is no guarantee that a remake will be granted. Any score
implications on Thursday tiebreakers will be addressed through
the forum PM.
