OP    A:  Why can tank fired HE ammo not penetrate anything, while SPG fired HE rounds can, even though SPGs are fully capable of direct fire?    B:  Why do SPG fired HE rounds Stun, while tank fired rounds do not?

CabbageMechanic:  Can't answer as to logical consistency but both of these are design choices aimed specifically at giving SPG players a constant tactical question of which round to use to maximize efficiency.  The standard SPG shell stuns but the higher damage wider splash special shell doesn't, which one you use should (theoretically) require some level of anticipation or predictive skill. 

OP   D:  Why the heck does the KV-2 with almost the same gun as 'C' above get a magical pass?

CabbageMechanic:  Devs don't want to mess with the legendary meme and think the vehicle is already well balanced around its damage. This could prove to be wrong, we'll hopefully see in the test.

 

OP  What are you going to do about the Brits with their HESH ammo?  Taking HESH away from my FV4005, Cent AX, Charioteer, and Senlac substantially cuts back on their combat effectiveness.

CabbageMechanic:  HESH is retaining increased damage over standard HE, you trade some burst potential for more reliability.  As a HESH fan this also concerns me and is something I personally am trying out a lot on the test server.  So far it seems like we're at a decent medium level between pens and non-pens before, but it has lost some of its unique charm.
