complete randomness to meCabbageMechanic: You probably caught it in progress, should be showing
correctly as of now.

high enough to receive gold, when should we expect that to be in
our accounts? From my experience in the summer classic - 9 or so
days after the overall champion is determinedCabbageMechanic: Hopefully sooner this time, but vetting player participation
will add a step.

prize???? CabbageMechanic: Yes.

of the total points, so logically the second team should be moving
on. If this isn't what is happening I would submit a ticket.CabbageMechanic:

Meanwhile other teams had to play up to 28 games for potential 84 points
84 - 75 = 9 same difference as 67 - 58
Other teams with less games in the Gosu standings seems to have received a similar bonus.
It sounds unfair if it's like this
CabbageMechanic: I have not had time to make a full statement on this until
now. The rules as written were to accommodate a tournament of
specific size, and we did not hit that size this time - this lead
to complications where certain groups played fewer amount of
matches. Normally, this would be compensated by strategically
re-seeding groups to ensure the byes were handed out as equally as
possible - never more than one game played separating any two teams
- which would allow the normal ranking process to occur without too
much inequality. However, in this tournament this
time-intensive and manual process was not possible, and as a result
byes were given out randomly by the system. This lead to a
significant gap in games played throughout the group stage.
This problem lead to a decision - to count byes as played wins,
creating an unfair situation to teams that did not receive as many,
or not count them at all, creating an unfair situation for teams
that did receive many. I chose the former.
In either case, some of you would be upset and justly so. Ideally, I would have been able to take more time to assess the pros or cons of each direction before taking action or even more ideally, fixed the structural issue before the group stage began. I did not, and the resulting unfairness is a result my own oversight. I apologize to the teams affected negatively.
