The grass is always greener on the other side....

ARGO: And now my scoop on the big bad supposedly OP T-54.......yeah right
The Medium tank with the Heavy tank repair bill......Prepare yourselves for that.
In my humble opinion the T-54 is no more than a T-44 with a better gun and more armour pure and simple. Out of the box it's a dog with a capitol D.O.G. This tank could not even get out of it's own way without descent tracks but the armour let it last a little longer than the T-44. Now as far as guns go, you get 3 choices.
Guns: 1st you get a 100mm or you work your way to a 100mm and lastly you can grind to a 100mm.....Hmmm you see where I am going here? The difference is the loading speeds and damage which thankfully gets better because once you buy this puppy you may as well say goodbye forever to smaller tanks and say hello Mr. Maus and his buddy Mr. IS7. "it's no wonder why the T-54s stay in wolfpacks".
Now lets check out the turrets and here's where I noticed something wierd but not unfamiliar. Your second turret ranks no better than your 1st however it's heavier and turns slower....This is not unfamiliar with Tiger II jockeys who have been known to keep their 1st turret due to the 2nd ones lack of turning speed.
Now the comparison: I possess both the T-54, and Pershing Tanks and I will honestly say that the Pershing seems to be the better of the 2 but not due to the armour factor more so than the nice 10.5 cannon you get with the Pershing. I could not give any opinion regarding the Panther II because I never had one but I have seen on the battlefield that Panthers OR Panther IIs are nothing you want to mess with.
Conclusion: Is the T-54 OP.....Not in the sense that it can own the battlefield because simply put, if it stops it dies. It's a nice tank and in the hands of a serious player it can very much appear to be OP. Does it have OP armour? If it does, either I am not seeing it or things havn't clicked yet for me because it seems more or less like a Pershing. It does get a little more bounce off the front turret than most mediums. In closing this, I will tell anyone wishing to drive one of these little tanks that if your looking for serious battlefield survivability get a IS3, IS4, IS7, VK4501 AuF B, or a Maus because a T-54 is a scrapper, not a heavy weight meaning unless your leading a wolfpack, your no better than any other tank with the current matching system. But if you want speed and power with enough armour to back it up or be the ultimate scout then this tanks exactly what you want.
T-54 = Good Tank, Not God Tank.
