The rest of us (who are now dead) get stuck watching this one guy
in an unmoving tank until the enemy finally either finds him, or
captures the base. There really needs to be a way to either boot
these clowns (which hurts the team anyway), create some default
semi-crappy AI that takes over for them (at least there would be a
chance), or restrict them from receiving any XP. This happens on
winning maps as well where someone will just park and go AFK and
wait for the win. I tried this myself to make sure they're stilling
getting XP for this sort of behavior and indeed, they are. There
needs to be some implementation of XP being denied unless you fired
at an enemy tank, and at least got close or you were destroyed
while moving or something to weed out the leachers from the
courageous. I understand there are things in RL that may require a
player to go AFK, but at least charge out there(spotting enemies
for the Artillery chaps to fire upon), die, and THEN go AFK.
I have noticed that there is a timer built in that will declare the
match a draw if neither team wins by destroying everything or
capping the base, but IMO, it's WAY too long when there's only one
guy left, and he's not moving.
ARGO: 1/2 of me wants to agree with you except there is a problem with
booting AFKers, Sometimes theres a reason they are AFK and I will
guarrentee we have all been guilty of doing it at one time or
another. You see even though in a perfect world we could all enjoy
playing our tanks but unfortunately life happens. Your wife tells
you to take out the trash, you need to use the can...NOW, Your
parents decied to come into your room to give you that 1/2 hour
sermon about how you grades suck and it's because your on that damn
tank game too much, I could go on but I am sure your getting the
drift of why dumping AFKers may in some cases not be all that fair.
Do I as a player or even a Mod like it? No I don't...But again
people, real life happens....
