quit,and it's getting worse by each new patch. But at least we get

the article and us as the Community Managers talking to you here in
the forums, streams, discord or YouTube are not the ones designing
the Ranked Battles mode and we are not the ones balancing the
tanks. We are the ones collecting the feedback and obviously
forwarding it to responsible departments. The ranked battles mode
is set up in a way, so that players compete under certain given
conditions, there is no limit of which tanks can be used, there is
limit concerning ammunition, you can use improved equipment and you
can play in whatever way you want. According to your service record
you haven't even tried one battle in that mode...
I do not disagree with you guys saying that those tanks belong to the current meta of the ranked battles, neither does the article. Anyway we also agreed that those tanks were usually only unlocked or earned by the very engaged players, which covers a minority of the general audience. So what can I tell you:
- we read your feedback and we will forward it to the department in charge, we can't promise immediate changes but we see that this is a major pain point and we will address it- if you are interested in getting the new Reward tank (Kampfpanzer 50t) you can do that for sure without playing reward vehicles and even if you missed the first season (only 10 points required)- Reward tanks are played in this mode and yes, they perform well, but as they are only available for a share of highly engaged players, this article has the focus on options within the tech trees

thePhilX: To answer your main question: the article is a guide to
everyone that wants to play it and looks for some recommendations
about what to play. As you stated in the higher divisions / leagues
you saw more of the reward tanks, so those players most likely do
not need any recommendation on what to pick anymore, as their have
more experience and a larger tank pool to pick from. Also while I
agree with you, that "meta" is not a very suitable term to use in
the title of the article, you should know yourself that this
thinking of only having the two extremes is not correct, it is not
"either you play a reward tank or you are taking the role of a meat
shield". Anyway meta can be used in different ways within the scope
of computer games.
There are many strong tanks in the tech tree that can compete in every division and league, my recommendations would be the S.Conqueror, Obj 430U, WZ-111 5A / Object 277 or the Kranvagn. We will forward your wish to exclude reward tanks, but as you said, you can deal with whatever tank gets in front of you, so best of luck.

latest season." based on the parameter of average win rate. As
others here already stated, those top 50 players most likely had
access to tanks, others reading the article didn't, that's the
simple reason this guide addresses the top 5 tech tree tanks and
not reward tanks, this explanation was already provided in the
article - highlighted at the beginning "As they're rarer and harder
to unlock, we chose to rule the special Tier X vehicles (clan wars
& campaign tanks) out of this list".
