New Balance Features in Update 1.9

It is not clear to me what happens with the same tier researchable vehicles, because they only stated that the "... next tier (+1) and all tanks of lower tiers will be automatically researched", no mention about the same tier vehicles. It would be great if I know that do I need to grind the IS and the A-44 from the KV-13, or I just can wait and will get the unlock for them (tho I'm half way through so I might not risk it).   To be fair I have not read the previous 24 pages of this topic, so shame on me if there is an answer to my question there.
