It would be understandable if nothing in tank appearance options have changed since introduction of tanks, but look for this example

You've sold 252u and defender in the same time, which means you cannot swap skin by support
Then 1-2-3 years passes, i wont even count. You added tons of new appearance stuff for tanks so you can equip this on your 252u, there is TONS of stuff you can do now which was not possible in past
Now you even giveaway special camo for 252u

And Defender owners cannot make any use of new camo you've introduced or any other tank appearance feature, including special camo you are giving away now

You bought Defender few years ago when there were like 5 appearance things crossed so you stick with it foerever when game evolved in this matter 150 times

    So people do not make mistake that many people did, take this into account, dont take tanks with permanent camo if you have a choice, since game changes and you will be excluded from using new game features on your tank
In the end you will end up with demo version of your tank with no options to modify its appearence when even more new appearance stuff gets into game
and that's a shame that WG never took this fact into account

and yes, i would get rid of defender skin in an eye blink just because its excluded from all new features that came into game since moment this tank got introduced

I got rid of perma camos on every tank that it was possible on when WG gave that possibility, got rid of Patriot skin, got rid of m41 90 GF skin, got rid of Skorpion G skin, just because of many new ways you can customize tank
I'm stuck with defender because of reasons noone understands

Another thing is thati tottally dont get why defender skin didnt got transisioned into 3d style in a way like bourrasque has(and other tanks like patriot, skorp g, liberte ETC), then all 252u and defender owners would put or remove this style in a way they want
Now its not only problem that tanks are exluded from using new appearance staff, but it also creates complete mess. Some tanks can remove their special styles, others cannot, guess which one can and which cant especially when you are new player and you just didnt get used to it
