now, so the applicants should not worry.
eekeeboo: Applicants should worry if they don't have sufficient
experience, we don't want to have just anyone boop of noping your
posts

eekeeboo: I hear there's a whole mount of it in the Wargaming office you
sleep on every night!
Mr_Missclick, on 02 September 2019 - 05:18 PM, said: Unfortunately, being a Community Manager here in WoT seems to be
significantly different comparing to other game companies.
Combination of all of the obvious privileges & duties & staff
background just makes it strongly unattractive to everybody who has
already occupied this position in any other company. Required
in-house in Paris is also a problem (considering this job's daily
routine). However, I wish you to finally find the person willing to
join and (what's the most important) stay. Such things as
free coffee is a must-have nowadays btw. eekeeboo: That is one perspective and being a community manager at multiple
companies can have different roles and responsibilities, it's why
I've always tried to be transparent on what I do when I can
We have made sure to find the best
possible candidate for this position already and that's why we are
taking time to make sure we get it right
cro001, on 02 September 2019 - 05:38 PM, said: And you leave the most important, how many shekels do you earn
while doing this horrible job in expensive city?eekeeboo: The Shekels are available in the discussion in the interview I
believe, I do know I was paid more here as a CM than was I was
teaching in the UK!
Titaniumas, on 02 September 2019 - 07:53 PM, said: Hi, my first action as community manager is to eliminate RNG,
increase accuracy, cap arty to 1 per side and only once every 4
matches, make chatbanned people able to write in platoonchat or in
private messages with their friends, make amend on behalf of the
company for having destroyed the forum community during the years
and remove the protection for players with less than 49% win ratio.
Ah, I can do it from home.eekeeboo: I believe you may be looking at the wrong position and have
misguided perceptions on.... almost everything to do with the game
gunslingerXXX, on 02 September 2019 - 08:33 PM, said: I was just starting to think the position was so unimportant it was
removed completely... eekeeboo: It has been advertised consistently throughout, but the position
has not been filled until we find the best possible applicant that
we feel will do the position justice and work well with the
community
kubawt112, on 02 September 2019 - 09:06 PM, said: I do have some questions, Mr. Eekeeboo. - Under what
circumstances did the previous holder of the English CM position
leave? Was he promoted, like we are led to believe? Is Wargaming EU
truly the career path it seems like? - Whilst I realize that
there's no education specific for 'community manager', what
background do other, and previous, CMs have? I'm guessing gaming
industry, obviously, but aside from that? - How long has this
position been open for? - What are the responsibilities of the CM
position? I get the obvious ones, and of course organizing events
and whatnot, but what else is there behind the curtain? Any fun
stuff, or is it just numbers and statistics (which, I guess, would
be fun for some)? - What sort of free coffee do you offer? I would
be hesitant to accept anything but 'cowboy coffee' (boiling water
in a pot, adding grounds, and let them settle before pouring). I'm
not hopeful, of course. - What sort of 'alternating shifts' are we
talking about? Weekends, obviously, but late nights, early
mornings...? - About the requirements, I do know a particular
person that would be perfect for the job - he has ample experience
running a Discord community (with an iron fist, which I'm sure you
may appreciate), as well as truly expert knowledge on both the
community (the official forums in particular) and the game. He,
however, has unfortunately been subjected to a, sort-of long-term,
forum ban. Is that a disqualifying trait?eekeeboo: 1) Yes, I was promoted, that's why I'm still around and have a
shiny new position and do a lot of project work. And any place can
be a place to make a career if you have the right attitude and
skill set. 2) For previous experience, mostly customer service
will serve you well. But the experience in being a part and
managing a community, social media, knowing the game and being a
positive influence and streaming all work well. There's no single
way to become a community manager, but having the right mindset,
skillset, and motivation for the position. Showcasing a strong will
and the right sort of personality is more important than a
certificate/qualification you may not use. That being said being
educated and knowledge definitely helps! This is a vast topic and
I've tried to be succinct as possible! 3) The position has
been open since my promotion from the role to my current
one. 4) The responsibilities should always be feedback,
engagement and making sure you show a good presence in the
community. Honestly, this is something that you should research
before you apply for a community manager position. Once you
understand the basic requirements and how to be a good community
manager, you will see not only what you have to do, but what you
can do in the community, that's the best thing you can do is always
looking to enrich and enhance the community with engagement and
fun! Some people have skills to do something like a stream, others
do not, look at what you can do and what you can bring to the WoT
community and do you feel it will be received well? 5) We
don't have cowboy coffee, but a fancy pants fresh bean grinding
coffee machine that has espresso and vanilla latte options! 6)
For alternative shifts, that depends on events both online and
offline, most of the time you will have a set working pattern and
workdays as per French law certain working hours allowed per week.
Sometimes you want to stay later on an offline event, or if you're
like me, I felt it important to be around out of hours to do extra.
But usually Monday to Friday and 8 hours a day, that being said
Saturday shifts are possible and you substitute the Mon-Fri with a
different 5 day working pattern. 7) The forum ban in itself is
not a disqualifying factor but should be symbolic of the type of
influence and presence this person has. Is this person going to be
able to discuss on the forums in a way that doesn't break rules and
always be a positive influence and be able to go into a room of
naughty people and not join in for instance? So this would depend
on the ban and why.

different English CM's, i know some of the things
an English CM had to do and put up with. It certainly
would be a case of 'Join the Dark Side'. Or in pirates speak
'Cross my palms with gold' and we shall see what
happens eekeeboo: It's all fun and games!
Homer_J, on 03 September 2019 - 12:10 AM, said: Emmmm eekeboo is the previous English CM, and it's Lord, not
Mr. It just so happens I will be seeking new employment
early next year but Paris puts me off. Could WG be persuaded
to move to Bradford?eekeeboo: I hear Paris is almost Bradford like in a French pastry filled kind
of way!
WoT_RU_Doing, on 03 September 2019 - 12:47 AM, said: Why they don't take the opportunity to advertise this as based in
Paris OR Guilford is beyond me.....what's the point in having an
English office if you put the English CM in France. The uncertainty
over the potential Brexit implications needs to be considered
in this respect too....shortly after being hired the person may
find they aren't permitted to work in EU.eekeeboo: The difference being the EU office for World of Tanks is in Paris.
Guilford has a different product there and focuses on development
than the whole operational element and services.
Jumping_Turtle, on 03 September 2019 - 05:00 AM, said: Does Wargaming provide housing in Paris ?eekeeboo: You are provided accommodation for the first month in Paris and
given time to find a location helped through our relocation staff
who are amazing and do their best to find you something that fits
your needs at the best possible price.
