accept some of the conditions in it. And this is why I would never
follow someone in such a program.I'm not going to write a book here about ethics... But just keep things simple.
It's up to the player to decide if the content is good or not. If an "opinion leader" like a blogger or youtuber starts saying blatant lies about a game, the followers wise enough to see through will leave... And the fools will stay. But who cares about the fools? I certainly don't. Maybe that WG cares about the fools as they are potential customers who will give their money.
But I think that WG shouldn't care about fools even if there is good money in it. Why? Well, if you build a strong community of fools to fund your project, you will have immediate success. But what about the future? The next game developper will make a Fornite or something like that, and steal all the fools you raised.
The thing is to do it the hard way. Make a good product to please wise and smart individuals. And keep up the hard work and respect for your customers, build a legendary game and a strong community. And then keep building on it as a strong base.
But you can't give up codes, free premium tanks etc... And expect obedience.
What I mean: You don't get to control the program. You can encourage people by giving them tanks to test. Codes etc... So they can provide a better content (hard to test a tank you don't have). And leave them evolve alone.
NO CENSORSHIP!!!
In fact, having your own moderators on your own forum is pretty much a violation of our freedom of speech. If we have something negative to say about the game, we should have the right to say so. I doesn't have to be constructive.... It's up to you to interpret it and make into constructive propositions. It's your job, not ours.
eekeeboo: I don't think you understand what freedom of speech is,
firstly above all else. And slander doesn't work on
common sense, nor does it when people see WG as a person providing
access for a person to test things early and they then say some
unsavoury things, people assume it's endorsed, when it's not.
This is why the program has been changed to keep things in
line and to highlight the fact this is facilitation, not a
provisional "relationship". It's not about expecting obedience,
it's about helping people make content that helps them create their
own content and get the extra edge while also advertising content
and showing it off for people in ways we cannot. We
don't get to control all content, but we do on the other hand get
to control our own program. If a person abuses a position of trust
or the materials given to them, then we have full right to pull
that support. This isn't censoring them, it's about making sure
those who a constructive thrive, those who are toxic don't. Freedom
of speech doesn't give you a right to offend people or make
inaccurate statements and dress them up as "personal
opinion". It is a content creators job to be
objective, informed and informative. It is not a content creators
job to be sensationalist, click-baiting or over-the-top-negative to
please the masses. This is why you have big content creators and
those who aren't, if you compare the material they create, you can
see this. You can only interpret offensive statements as criticism,
if there's nothing constructive said, then there's nothing to
interpret it becomes sentiment not constructive feedback, there is
a HUGE difference.
