admin: That’s it! The show is over. Gamescom 2011 has come to an end and
this is the final chapter of World of Tanks @ Gamescom diaries.
It’s a bit sad to leave Cologne, because we feel like at home here,
but all-in-all, it’s been awesome. We’ve spent some hard yet good
time at Koelnmesse, we’ve met lots of our German and European
players tet-a-tet, and presented our new title which we’ll bring to
Cologne next year.

The results of the last day at the world greatest game industry expo appeared truly impressive for Wargaming.net team as we’ve received one of the Gamescom 2011 awards.
But we have our own awards to give! The last day of the Open Tournament had no changes in regulations but was pleasantly different prizewise. Today, not three but five players were rewarded for best results shown in battles. We are happy to congratulate the winners: Daniel aka Gies84 – best of the best; Johann aka i3ashownzz – second place; Daniel Icvzewina – third place. As all the previous top three winners, these guys were awarded a laptop, an iPad and a game set respectively. In addition, they were given radio controlled tank models. The same presents went to those who took places four and five. They are Moritz aka dopingman (familiar name, isn’t it?) and David Golonka. Congratulations to the guys!
Meanwhile, here’s more about expo’s outcomes.
Gamescom 2011 started with the strongest line-up in the history of the entertainment trade fair. Over 550 exhibitors from more than 40 countries presented 300+ games. Among them are both world-renowned brands and debutants. Tons of hardware news, mobile games, online and browser games as well as new motion games rolled into the expo and stunned game industry professional, media tittles, not to mention players visiting the expo. This year there were more than 250,000 of them!
Shortly you will get a chance to actually see the scale of this massive event with your own eyes. One of the upcoming Wargaming TV News Blocks will be dedicated fully to World of Tanks at Gamescom 2011. For now, we are saying bye. Time to pack up for the flight home.
Thank you for being with us at the expo! We had a really great time together! Russian Igromir is ahead. Soon we will be back with our new series of diaries.
