Tuccy: ...And therein lies the problem. Getting 300 m to a MBT isn't easy and taking aim undisturbed also isn't. And hitting the proper spot also is not a given. Heavy missiles then require heavier stand / vehicle, have huge firing signature and are vulnerable to countermeasures.
