tanks and upgrades; The Leopard 1 and the T-62A. I have a
historical connection with the Leo1 because my country (Belgium)
was one of the first countries who bought it from Germany and It
was cerimonially taken out of service by 1/3 Lancers 25/10/2013.

On the website you can see our last Leo 1 commander, who let
the Leo roar for the last time on firing range. So this is was to
expres my love for this beauty of a tank. To come back to the
matter at hand the Leo 1 and the T-62A, Jingles visited the DCC in
Shrivenham and there was T-62A equiped with reactive armour and
that got me thinking. Why can't we upgrade our tier 10 tanks with
this upgrade? I know there is a concern about balance and I
understand that but take the Leo 1 for example he has in the game
almost no armour so reactive armour got be a nice upgrade for this
tank. It enhances the tanks defenses but it slows him also down
because of the weight of the reactive armour. And you can clearly
see this in Jingles vist at the DCC that such an armour upgrade has
an impact on the overal speed of the tank and it's weight.
TheKroo: Leopard 1 was an interesting vehicle. The upgrade you
are proposing for sure is interesting. But sadly it collides with
current game play limitations quite a bit. Implementation of ERA
would require different mechanics, due to the difference in how
that type of Armour functions, compared to our current system.
Additionally, it would affect the game role of the vehicle, which
in one hand is really good, as it would offer more variety, but
also rather difficult to balance. Another note is the fact
that first pre-production ERA armours were produced in 60s, and if
my memory serves me well, first time used in early 80s.
