That is not the case with WOT, if you grind a T10 Russian IS7 and you don't like it because it bounces too many shells and its too quick, You are free to ALSO play and tech another tree such as TD's or mediums or Arty, German or USA. Nothing you unlock prohibits other things from being unlocked. So no "need" at all for a re-tech to access other sections.
Any form of a retech after release will be highly abused. You could for example grab a decent earning premium tank on release, grind out the 718k exp to unlock the IS7. Then press the "retech" button.

Also there is a retech feature in game that you can use.
Any exp in a elite tank can be reteched by paying gold.
The price is 1 gold per 25 exp.
So in the example above reteching 718k of exp would cost 28720 gold. (Its expensive.)
28720 gold at a rate of 250-1$ = $115
WoT is a pay per use micro transactions, one of the main things available to buy with gold, is EXP transfers.
There is no way IMO that they would jeopardize one of their main sources of income.
Basically you are looking for a way to transfer EXP to Free exp cheaper than 25exp per 1 gold.
Obviously that wouldn't be profitable for wot.
This is also a topic that has been within the forums for months. IE selectable softwipes after release.
It has been discussed to death, and it always comes back to it not being viable financially.
